For example, if the 15th of August is both the trading and clearing holiday on the NSE in 2023, then the 11th of August trade will get settled on the 17th of August because there will be a holiday on Saturday and Sunday in between and then the 15th of August and the 16th of August.

 

If there is only the clearing holiday and not the trading holiday, then there will be a different process. For example, on August 16, 2023, there will be a Parsi New Year, during which there will be clearing of holdings in the equity segment but not the trading holiday. As a result, the trades from August 14 and 16 will be combined and settled on August 18.
